Arusha National Park Day Tour Itinerary

7:30 AM – Pick-up from Kizumba House

• Start your day with a pick-up from Kizumba House in Arusha.
• A short 45-minute drive takes you to Arusha National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems and stunning views of Mount Meru.

8:15 AM – Arrival at Arusha National Park

• Upon arrival, you’ll check in at the park entrance.
• Begin your game drive through the park, exploring the beautiful landscapes, from lush forests to open savannahs.

8:30 AM – Game Drive & Wildlife Spotting

• Enjoy your morning game drive. The park is home to a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, and different types of antelope.
• Arusha National Park is also famous for its black-and-white colobus monkeys, which can often be seen in the treetops.
• Keep your eyes open for leopards and hyenas, although they are more elusive here.

10:30 AM – Visit to Momella Lakes

• Drive to the Momella Lakes, a collection of shallow alkaline lakes attracting a wide variety of birds, especially flamingos.
• Take some time to observe the lakes’ serene beauty and enjoy the birdwatching opportunities.

11:30 AM – Walking Safari

• After lunch, continue your game drive towards the Ngurdoto Crater, often referred to as the “mini Ngorongoro.”
• While descending into the crater is not allowed, you can enjoy panoramic views from the rim and spot animals like buffalo, monkeys, and various bird species.

3:30 PM – Depart Arusha National Park

• After exploring the park’s main highlights, start your return journey to Arusha.
